People who have a lot of “wrinkles” and “deep lines” on their face, tend to eat a lot of congesting foods, such as meat, shellfish and dairy; all which contain no fiber and move much more slowly through the digestive tract. As soon as your clear blockages in the colon, the lines on your face may start to lighten.

Dull skin has the inevitable effect of undermining your beauty. It is impossible to truly hide dull skin behind mineral-infused foundation and shimmery highlighters. This is why you need to eat certain food’s which will eradicate dull skin and replace it with lustrous, velvety luminescent skin. Also, looking radiant will help you FEEL radiant, which can change your whole outlook on the world, and change the way the world looks at you.

You may be one of those people who have wondered why you can’t get your pesky acne to vanish. Our approach to acne addresses the root cause, which concerns blockages within the internal organs, specifically the liver and colon.

The liver filters toxins and usually pushes the waste into the colon. But when these organs become overloaded with waste and toxins, the toxins have to be pushed out through the sin, another elimination organ, creating those ugly pimples.

Yes, it may perhaps seem strange that you intestines, deep within you body affect the skin on your face. But all parts of your body are interconnected. If you want to eradicate acne, you have to eliminate the root case by minimizing toxicity in your body and maintaining ongoing cleansing of your digesting tract through better dietary choices.

Brown Bananas Fight Cancer

Cancer Fighting Fruit – Bananas

Have you ever thrown out your banana’s just because they went all brown? Or put them in the freezer (to save for a rainy day when you absolutely must bake your grandma’s favorite BANANA BREAD recipe)? I have.

So many of us have gotten so spoiled with the “perfect looking” bananas at the store, that the second they go a tad brown – or show attributes that shy away from perfection – we refuse to eat them. However, new research coming out of Japan suggests that those “brown spots” on the bananas may not be as bad as we would have previously thought.

Benefits of Bananas vs. Other Fruits

It all started with a simple experiment conducted in Japan by Projessor Senji. Specifically, lab mice were injected with extracts from a variety of fruits, including bananas. Out of all the fruit injected into the mice, banana marked the most improvements in the overall health of the mice. Bananas not only boosted the white blood cell count, but also inhibited the growth of cancer cells.

banana benefits So what was it in the bananas that improved the overall health of these mice?

Indeed, the fully ripe banana with dark patches on yellow skin produced a substance called Tumor Necrosis Factor (TNF), which actually has the ability to combat abnormal cells. Scientifically speaking {will try not to get too excited here and carried away}, TNF is a protein with the ability to correspond with cells and regulate their cellular activity and coordinate their movement. This is why TNF can actually inhibit the development of such abnormal cells in your body.

How does the TNF (Chemical Produced From the Brown Spots On Banana’s) Actually Prevent Cancer Cells?

So you may be thinking {as was I}, that how could something as minuscule as the TNF molecule actually be powerful enough to combat cancer cells?? The protein (TNF’s) “plan-of-action” is really quite interesting. What it does, is it pumps excess surrounding water {found in your body} into harmful cells, causing them to burst from the pressure!

Organic Bananas

So now that you know the incredible health benefits of “brown banana’s” {aka – a tad over-ripe}, maybe you will think twice about choosing the “green/non-ripe” or “perfectly yellow” banana’s at the grocery store. I know I will! Maybe even opt for the “organic bananas”, as they are often not sprayed with any chemicals that prolong the ripening process, and thus go “ripe/brown” faster.

There is always beauty in the imperfections.

Why Eat The Organic Apple?

organic apple

It is important to know that all apples have a natural wax on them, but after the harvest, apples are washed and brushed to remove leaves and field dirt before they are packed in cartons for shipping. This cleaning process removes the fruit’s original wax coating.

Without wax, fruits and vegetables, like apples, lose their crispness and moisture through normal respiration and transpiration – eventually leaving them soft and dry. A food grade wax is sprayed on apples to keep them shiny (for cosmetic purposes) and to protect the fruit.

However, keep in mind that once the wax is applied, the apples often sit in cold storage for 9-12 months before making their way to the supermarket! {lets face it, you can only pick the apples in September/October…so this only makes sense for the mass market}. Therefore, the nutritional value probably has gone down to a certain extent and it isn’t nearly as fresh! So next time you are at the grocery store, why not try an organic apple?

Healthy Snack Ideas at Starbucks

It is that beautiful time of year when the colors on the trees start to change, everyone goes apple picking and the kiddies are sent back to school. We also start to realize that those “extra few pounds” we put on over the summer need to come off! However, did you ever think that your “daily morning coffee”, “cup or tea” or “snack” from Starbucks could actually make a difference in this weight gain? Guess again. You would be shocked at how important the choices you make are when considering your health and waistline.

Most often when I go to Starbucks, I avoid getting a treat/baked good because of the million calories! Instead, I often opt for a white hot chocolate instead and feel really proud of myself (can still get rid of that chocolate craving without eating the giant brownie that I secretly want more than anything in the world). You would be shocked to know that, a white hot chocolate from Starbucks (with which cream and 2% milk) is EQUAL TO EATING 12 FRENCH CRULLERS FROM COUNTRY STYLE!!! …so I could have had that brownie I secretly wanted and it wouldn’t have made a difference anyways!

HEALTHIER SNACK IDEAS

Yep, a Starbucks “white hot chocolate”, has 490 calories!!!! That is just insane. Now keep in mind, this is including the whipped cream and 2% milk …but who doesn’t get the whip cream on their hot chocolate? 😉

Have no fear though, there is a better option which still includes “chocolate”. The crazy thing about all this, is that a regular “hot chocolat”e from Starbucks has HALF THOSE CALORIES (290 calories total) and only 9g of fat (versus the 19g of fat in the white hot chocolate!!!). Who would have thought?! ..a much more healthy snack idea for your mid-day break or “pick-me-up” on the way home from work.

starbucks healthier choice

So why is the”white hot chocolate” more calories?

Simple. It is more processed. As if Starbucks melted the chocolate and spent hours making it! We have all seen the 100 syrup pumps behind the counter of “artificial flavors/sweeteners”. This is just a guess, but lets face it, to get all their products tasting soo amazing and consistently getting us to come back day after day, they most likely had to add more sugar and artificial flavors.

We wanted to show you how important the choices you make are in your everyday eating. What may be “perceived” as less calories is not always the case. So next time you feel like a hot drink, opt for a “hot chocolate” at Starbucks as a healthier snack idea.
